PM Phuc praised the operation of the port which is able to handle 200,000-ton vessels with high revenue and loading output.
Via the tour, PM Phuc expected to learn about the reality and collect comments for relevant ministries, especially the Ministry of Transport.
Mr. Phuc tasked leaders of the terminal to create favorable and open ways to facilitate goods circulation in line with international standards; ensure safety; take care of spiritual and physical lives of laborers.
Last year, the total output of customs clearance via the port hit over 1.2 million TEU and revenue was estimated at US$ 22.64 million.
In the first half of 2017, the port received 187 vessels in which total output met 46.63% against the year target, equivalent to 107.66% against the same period last year. So far, goods of ten foreign countries were transferred via the port.
Earlier, in February, Margrethe Maersk, a super container vessel with a total load of 194,000 tons arrived in Cai Mep international port, making it the 19th of this kind which is able to handle Triple-E 18,000 TEU./.
