Choi also reported on construction of the central building of Samsung’s Research and Development Center in Ha Noi, which was proposed by PM Phuc at his previous meetings with Samsung leaders.
Samsung Viet Nam has realized necessary procedures to construct the Center, which will be the largest R&D Center in the Southeast Asia, capable of housing 3,000 people, Choi added.
PM Phuc highlighted the importance of the R&D Center, reflecting the corporation’s determination to pursue long-term operation in the Southeast Asian country.
Phuc said he has asked Ha Noi’s authorities to create most favorable conditions for Samsung Viet Nam to build the center.
The Government leader highly appraised the operation of Samsung Viet Nam under the leadership of Choi Joo Ho, expressing his hope that Samsung will further expand investment in Viet Nam.
He confirmed to back the corporation to boost strategic investment in Viet Nam, not only production but also technology development and research.
Phuc also took the occasion to ask Samsung to assist Viet Nam in e-Government development, training and technology transfer to facilitate Vietnamese auxiliary enterprises, especially small and medium-sized ones to supply materials and spare parts for the corporation.
He hoped that Samsung will call on more tech giants in the Republic of Korea to invest in Viet Nam. Choi said that Samsung has a Korean semiconductor producer to pour US$500 million in the northern province of Bac Giang.
