General Secretary Lam reaffirmed that Slovakia has always been a loyal and close friend of Viet Nam.

The host leader took the occcasion to express his gratitute to the Slovak Government and people for their steadfast support and solidarity over the past 75 years.

He commended the outcomes of recent talks with Politburo member, Vice Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defence Phan Van Giang, noting that defence cooperation—built on the 2015 Memorandum of Understanding—has produced tangible results and become a key pillar of bilateral ties. He proposed further strengthening collaboration in defence industry, military training, and peacekeeping operations.

The Party leader also called on both sides to maintain high-level delegation exchanges and enhance the effectiveness of existing consultation and cooperation mechanisms. He urged continued support for ministries, agencies, and businesses to deepen partnerships, particularly in the economy and science–technology—areas he identified as future pillars of the relationship. He also encouraged expanding cooperation in culture, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

In reply, Kaliňák expressed his admiration for Viet Nam's development achievements, which he said have elevated the country's stature in Asia. He reaffirmed that Slovakia has been proud to stand alongside Viet Nam for 75 years and regards the country as one of its most important partners in the region.

He said Slovakia seeks to further strengthen the effectiveness of multifaceted cooperation, especially in defense and other areas of shared interest. He agreed with all the General Secretary's proposals and pledged close coordination with Slovak ministries and Vietnamese counterparts to advance bilateral ties commensurate with their potential.

Highlighting significant complementarities in the defense industry, he affirmed Slovakia's readiness to cooperate with Viet Nam in research and joint projects. He also proposed collaboration to identify and preserve historic sites in Slovakia associated with President Ho Chi Minh, helping educate younger generations about the longstanding friendship between the two nations.

Kaliňák praised Viet Nam's active role at regional and international forums and expressed hope that both countries would continue close coordination at international organizations and within the ASEAN–EU cooperation framework, contributing new initiatives for peace, stability, and development. He also underscored the important role of the Vietnamese community in Slovakia as a bridge fostering friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples./.
