Party leader meets with Russian KPRF Chairman

General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that the Party, State and people of Viet always bear in mind the invaluable assistance provided by the Communist Party, Government and people of the former Soviet Union, as well as the Russian people today, to Viet Nam's struggle for national liberation and reunification and its cause of national construction and defense.

The top Vietnamese leader said his state visit to Russia stands as a testament to the continuation of the steadfast friendship and strategic trust between the two countries, building on the achievements of previous generations while creating fresh momentum for elevating the Viet Nam–Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a more comprehensive, profound and substantive manner.

General Secretary and President To Lam congratulated Russia on its major achievements in recent years, attributing them to the leadership of President Vladimir Putin, the solidarity of the Russian people and political forces, and the contributions of the KPRF to national policymaking.

Following the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV), the Party has adopted a number of important resolutions to advance national development, he said, expressing his hope that the KPRF and other Russian political parties will continue to support and closely coordinate with the CPV to bring Party-to-Party and State-to-State relations to a new level of greater substance and effectiveness.

Against the backdrop of rapid and unpredictable developments in the international and regional situation, he called for stronger solidarity, cooperation and mutual support between the two countries in pursuing their respective national development goals and contributing to peace, security, stability and progress in the world.

To further deepen ties between the two parties at both bilateral and multilateral levels, General Secretary and President To Lam proposed that both sides effectively implement the agreement on expanding and deepening Party-to-Party relations, with a focus on increasing high-level delegation exchanges and promptly sharing information on major activities of each Party.

He also underscored the importance of continued experience sharing between the strategic advisory bodies of the two parties.

General Secretary and President To Lam said Viet Nam is working to complete the CPV Museum by 2030, marking the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding. He called on the Russian side to continue supporting Viet Nam in accessing archival documents and materials relating to Viet Nam and President Ho Chi Minh, Viet Nam's relations with the international communist movement, the support extended by the Soviet Union and other socialist countries during Viet Nam's resistance wars and socialist construction, as well as Viet Nam–Russia cooperation since 1991 preserved at Russian museums and archives.

For his part, Gennady Zyuganov congratulated Viet Nam on its socio-economic achievements and praised the country's efforts to renew its development model based on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

He expressed his confidence that Viet Nam will continue to achieve strong development under the leadership of the CPV and General Secretary and President To Lam.

Welcoming the positive development of relations between the two parties, the KPRF Chairman called for effective implementation of existing inter-Party agreements to further reinforce the traditional friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Russia.

He also proposed the two sides should step up cooperation between the mass organizations of the two parties, particularly youth organizations, enabling younger generations to inherit and promote the traditional friendship between the two countries while strengthening political and ideological education in the digital era.

General Secretary and President To Lam welcomed the proposal, stressing the importance of fostering cooperation among youth organizations to help preserve and further develop the traditional friendship between the two parties and peoples.
