General Secretary To Lam and his spouse leaves Ha Noi on October 20 for a three-day official visit to Finland
The Party chief is accompanied by Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission; General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs; Pham Gia Tuc, member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; and Pham Thi Thanh Binh, Ambassador of Viet Nam to Finland, among others.
This is the first visit to Finland by a General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973.
The visit represents an important opportunity for the two countries to review the achievements of bilateral cooperation and chart major orientations to create new momentum to elevate the traditional friendship and multifaceted collaboration between the two countries to a new height, said Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Finland Pham Thi Thanh Binh said that the visit symbolizes a new era of bilateral cooperation rooted in innovation, knowledge, and green development, helping to elevate relations to a deeper and more comprehensive level.
Viet Nam and Finland established diplomatic relations in 1973. Over the past more than five decades, the relationship between the two countries has seen positive developments. Currently, there remains significant room to further strengthen cooperation, especially in areas such as trade and investment, science and technology, innovation, education and training, agriculture and environment, information and communication technology, semiconductors, and tourism./.
