Nguyen, on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State, also expressed his wish for peace, friendship, cooperation and development for all friends and people around the world.
In 2022, Viet Nam managed to overcome headwinds in order to reap remarkable and comprehensive achievements, particularly in COVID-19 containment, socio-economic recovery, and building of an independent and self-reliant economy in tandem with proactive and active international integration.
The aforesaid achievements helped consolidate people's trust in the Party, State and the socialist regime and left good impressions on foreign friends.
As 2023 is the mid-term year, Nguyen called on the whole nation to continue promoting patriotism and solidarity, overcome all challenges in order to further speed up the reform process and firmly maitain the environment of peace and stability in favor of the national development course.
In last November, the National Assembly adopted a Resolution on socio-economic development plan for 2023.
The resolution clearly states the goal of prioritising macro-economic stability, controlling inflation, promoting growth, ensuring major balances of the economy, and improving the internal capacity, self-reliance, resilience and adaptability.
The Government set 15 key socio-economic targets for next year, including a GDP growth of some 6.5 per cent, a 4.5 per cent hike in consumer price index, labour productivity growth of 5-6 per cent, unemployment rate in urban areas below 4 per cent, and a 1-1.5 per cent reduction in the multidimensional poverty rate./.
