Outgoing Belgian Ambassador receives friendship insignia

Belgian Ambassador to Viet Nam Jehanne Roccas

Addressing the ceremony, VUFO Vice President Bui Khac Son lauded the diplomat’s successful term in Viet Nam.

He stressed that the diplomat’s contributions to Viet Nam-Belgium ties, especially in politics-diplomacy, trade, economy, development, education and people-to-people exchange.

She has actively organised visits and working sessions between leaders of ministries, agencies, organisations and businesses of both countries, he said.

She has also worked to accelerate the implementation of the Belgian Government’s non-refundable aid projects in several localities in Viet Nam in the fields of State management, human resources development and climate change response, he added.

The VUFO Vice President said he hopes that the Ambassador, in any capacity, will continue contributing to developing the friendship and collaboration between the two nations.

Voicing her honour at receiving the insignia, the most notable reward of the VUFO, Ambassador Jehanne Roccas highlighted the long-standing friendship between Viet Nam and Belgium and expressed her appreciation towards the warmth and support the Vietnamese people have given to Belgian people and to the Ambassador herself.

She affirmed that her country is ready to support Viet Nam in various areas, especially education, believing those who have studied in Belgium will serve as an important bridge for the two nations’ friendship and cooperation. 

Highlighting great potential for Viet Nam- Belgium cooperation as the two countries share many similarities in culture and history, the Ambassador voiced her hope that the bilateral ties will continue to expand. She also vowed to continue efforts to boost the cooperation in her new position.
