Number of foreign visitors to Viet Nam increases by over 21 times

VGP - Viet Nam welcomed 2.95 million foreign arrivals during the January-November period, showing 21.1 times more than the figure in the same period last year, reported the General Statistics Office.

The number of visitors from the Republic of Korea surges 27-fold on year to make the Northeast Asian country the biggest source of international arrivals to Viet Nam in January-November period with over 763,000 people.

Foreign visitors traveled to Viet Nam by air hit 2.67 million, making up 88.9 percent while those coming in by road and by sea were estimated at 326,100 and 855,000, respectively.

The number of visitors from the Republic of Korea surged 27-fold on year to make this Northeast Asian country the biggest source of international arrivals to Viet Nam with over 763,000 people. 

It was followed by the U.S. with 266,000 people, Cambodia 172,000, Thailand 153,400 and Japan 146,600. 

According to the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism, the number of international tourists searching for information about Viet Nam is growing significantly.

The 10 most searched destinations include Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Phu Quoc (KienGiang Province), Hoi An (Quang Nam Province), NhaTrang (Khanh Hoa Province), Da Lat (Lam Dong Province), Hue (Thua Thien-Hue Province), and Phan Thiet (Binh Dinh Province).

According to data from the travel tracking tool Google Destination Insights, the searchers are mainly from the U.S., Australia, Singapore, India, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the UK, Malaysia, Thailand and Germany.
