North- south air route put into exploitation

VGP - A major north-south air route was officially put into service at 7am today, announced the Viet Nam Air Traffic Management (VATM).

The system uses advanced area navigation (RNAV5) in line with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
 
The north-south route will shorten distance and time between flights, reduce the consumption of fuel and the release of exhaust gas into the environment.
 
The Viet Nam flight information region, which connects the West and Southwest Asia and the East and Northeast Asian Economic Zones, is also one of the busiest flight areas in the world, with more than 2,000 flights a day.
 
According to the Viet Nam Air Traffic Management, the north-south air route in Viet Nam is one of the world busiest, with nearly 700 flights a day.
