The Viet Nam National Vaccine Company (VNVC) has signed a contract with Germany's Rieckermann Group, a world-leading designer in the field of vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, to design the plant.
Ounce put into operation, the plant will be the first vaccine manufacturing facility in Viet Nam to fully meet the highest international standards in technology and environmental impact.
The plant marks a new and important milestone in the sustainable development strategy for Viet Nam's vaccination sector, contributing to the goal of making Viet Nam self-sufficient in vaccines, ensuring healthcare security, and enhancing the competitiveness of Viet Nam's pharmaceutical industry on the global stage.
Sales & Business Development Manager for Engineering of Rieckermann Group said, this project not only demonstrates outstanding progress of Viet Nam in enhancing pharmaceutical and biotechnology infrastructure but also represents a step forward in addressing global health challenges.
Rieckermann will provide VNVC with a creative, and world-class design that fully meets international standards and criteria for safety, efficiency, and long-term sustainability, ensuring continuous production of vaccines and important biological products using the world's leading modern technologies, he added.
The VNVC plant will be among the first in Southeast Asia to make a significant investment in modern production lines, including vial, syringe, and pen injector filling technologies that use isolator technology. This is the world's most advanced aseptic production technology, which VNVC has brought to Viet Nam for the first time.
In addition to vaccine production, the plant also has modern infrastructure for scientific research and vaccine clinical trials, creating favorable conditions to attract leading experts from both within the country and abroad to work.
Earlier, in October 2024, VNVC initially reached a cooperation agreement with the leading global pharmaceutical company Sanofi (France), aiming to transfer technology and produce several vaccines at VNVC's plant, such as the flu vaccine and the 6-in-1 vaccine, to help Viet Nam become self-sufficient in high-quality vaccines for both children and adults./.
