Nearly 43,000 workers sent abroad in nine months

VGP – Viet Nam sent nearly 43,000 workers abroad in the January-September period, meeting 47% of this year's target, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (MOLISA).

Of the guest workers, 14,982 are female, said the ministry. 

In the reviewed period, Chinese Taipei was the largest recipient of Vietnamese laborers  with   19,350 (including 6,486 females); followed by Japan with 19,051 (8,235 female workers); China with 1,425 laborers, the Republic of Korea with 702, Romania with 609, Singapore with 454, and Hungary with 403. 

Earlier, the ministry asked manpower export companies to work with their foreign partners to ensure that Vietnamese guest workers get proper treatment services if they are infected with COVID-19 in the host countries. 

The ministry expected to send 90,000 laborers to work abroad in 2021, mainly to high and stable income countries.

Last year, Viet Nam sent 78,641 workers abroad, including more than 28,700 female workers./.
