Since the beginning of the year, Viet Nam has recorded 14 storms and five tropical depressions.

A total number of 337,297 houses were collapsed, while 553,417 hectares of rice and crops, along with 376,792 hectares of other plants, were inundated or damaged.

On November 24, at the opening ceremony of the "Great National Unity – Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week 2025 in Ha Noi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on people across the country to provide greater assistance for south-central localities ravaged by recent floods.

The event began with a report highlighting the severe devastation caused by recent floods in the central and Central Highlands regions. The footage showed heartbreaking losses across the four provinces of Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Gia Lai and Dak Lak with 102 people dead or missing; 332 homes collapsed or swept away; 933 houses damaged; and more than 82,000 hectares of rice and crops destroyed. Initial estimates place total economic losses at over VND13 trillion (US$492.87 million)./.
