National COVID-19 patient tally crosses 100,000 cases

VGP – The Ministry of Health reported 2,708 new COVID-19 cases on Monday morning, raising the national caseload to 101,173.

The latest patients include four imported cases and 2,704 domestic infections in HCMC (1,714), Binh Duong (407), Tien Giang (201), Dong Nai (125), Vinh Long (49), Da Nang (27), Phu Yen (26), An Giang (25), Binh Thuan (23), Binh Dinh (19), Dong Thap (19), Ben Tre (19), Dak Lak (16), Khanh Hoa (12), Can Tho (seven), Hau Giang (seven), Dak Nong (five), Lam Dong (two), Hung Yen (one).

Of the domestic infections, 507 cases were founded in the community.

Among the national patient tally, 98,991 are locally-transmitted cases, including 97,421 documented in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.

Eight out of the above localities have gone 14 days without community infection, namely Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, and Bac Kan.

The total number of recoveries reached 19,342.

Among the current positive cases, 130 patients were admitted to intensive care units, of whom 17 are critically ill and dependent on ECMO./.
