National Assembly Chairman meets Australian Prime Minister
VGP - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese voiced support for the two countries to consider upgrading the relations to Comprehensive strategic Partnership at an appropriate time.

The two leaders had a meeting on Wednesday on the occasion of the top Vietnamese legislator's on-going official visit to Australia.
Both sides expressed delight on the fruitful development in Viet Nam-Australia relationship across all sectors, particularly pillars highlighted in the Plan of Action for the implementation of the Strategic Partnership for the 2020-2023 period.
Besides achievements in economic and trade ties, the host and the guest emphasized the cooperation potentials in other areas such as security-defense, education-training, labor, agriculture and tourism.
They agreed to expand collaboration in new sectors like energy, climate change, green growth and digital economy to create more impetus for fostering the bilateral relationship.
They reiterated the commitments to support the central role of ASEAN and a region of peace, prosperity, stability and respect for sovereignty.
Both leaders reaffirmed that all disputes, including ones at the East Sea, must be addressed via peaceful measures in line with international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982).
They reiterated their commitment to advocate the freedom of navigation and aviation, and the conclusion of an efficient and effective Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC) that is in line with international law, particularly the UNCLOS 1982.
He pledged to encourage Australian enterprises to pour more investment in Viet Nam and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese workers to work in agriculture sector in Australia.
Vuong took the occasion to express thanks to the Australian Government for supporting the Vietnamese community in the country, expecting that the Australian Government will create more favorable conditions for them to contribute to the development of Australia and the bilateral relations.
The same day, Vuong had meetings with Governor-General of Australia David Hurley and Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Richard Marles.
