Nguyen made the above statement on Monday during his online talks with President of the Liberation Front of Mozambique (FRELIMO) and President of the Republic of Mozambique Filipe Jacinto Nyusi.
Viet Nam consistently sticks to its foreign policy of diversification and multi-lateralization of external relations and attaches importance to the traditional friendship and cooperation with African nations, the Vietnamese Party chief affirmed.
He spoke highly of Mozambique's role, status and crucial contributions to development in Africa, welcoming Mozambique's candidacy for non-permanent membership at the United Nations Security Council for the tenure 2023-2024.
For his part, Nyusi reiterated that Viet Nam is a priority in the eastward foreign policy of Mozambique, expressing his wish for stronger cooperation and friendship between the two countries and Parties.
The two sides pledged to continue strengthening cooperation between the two Parties, step up meetings and exchanges through Party, Government and National Assembly channels, and people-to-people exchanges.
Both sides vowed to foster cooperation in politics-diplomacy, economy-trade, security-defense, education-training, tourism, culture and coordination at international and regional multi-lateral forums for the sake of their people and for peace, stability and prosperity.
Nguyen took the occasion to invite the Mozambican President to pay a visit to Viet Nam. The latter gladly accepted the invitation and invited the Vietnamese Party leader to visit Mozambique.
