More than 340 citizens return home from Japan

VGP – Vietnamese Embassy in Japan has coordinated with the national flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines and Japanese authorities to repatriated more than 340 citizens from the Northeast Asian country, according to the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry.

Their flight landed at the Noi Bai International Airport on Monday and all passengers, including the elderly, pregnant women and workers with expired visa were medically checked and quarantined upon arrival as currently regulated.

Since April 24, Viet Nam has arranged 12 citizen repatriation flights with total 3,246 passengers from foreign countries and territories, official data showed.

Earlier, the ministry said it would coordinate with competent authorities to arrange 18 flights between May 18 to June 15 to bring home citizens stranded abroad in accordance with the Prime Minister’s request.

As of 6pm on Monday, Viet Nam had 325 COVID-19 patients, of whom 185 are imported cases, said the Ministry of Health.

Of the patient tally, 272 have been cleared of the virus, brining the total number of recovered cases to 272, accounting for 84%, reported the ministry./.
