More than 2,500 Vietnamese citizens leave Ukraine

VGP - More than 2,500 out of about 7,000 in Ukraine have been evacuated to other countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Sunday.

Specifically, 1,700 people were taken to Poland, 290 to Hungary, 600 to Romania, and 40 to Slovakia. 

Under the Government's instructions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with relevant ministries and agencies to continue evacuating Vietnamese citizens from Ukraine to other neighboring countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been working with relevant ministries, agencies, and airlines to arrange three repatriation flights to bring Vietnamese citizens back home, with the first two flights scheduled this week.

One of the flights, conducted by the national flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines, is scheduled on March 7, carrying 283 citizens from Romania's Bucharest.

The other flight, conducted by Bamboo Airways, will depart from Poland's Warsaw on March 9, with 270 passengers onboard.
