In October alone, over 1.4 million foreign visitors travelled to Viet Nam, up 11.4 percent against the previous month and up 27.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
During the last month, South Korea maintained its position as Viet Nam's top tourist source with 367,022 visitors, followed by China 305,464 visitors, Taiwan 108,861 visitors, the U.S. 58,221 visitors, Japan 55,902 visitors, India 41,391 visitors, Australia 40,600 visitors, Cambodia 40,030 visitors, Thailand 38,795 visitors and Malaysia 35,932 visitors.
During January-October period, total tourism revenue was estimated at VND690 trillion (US$27.1 billion).
Favorable visa policies, various tourism promotion programs, and prestigious tourism awards granted by international organizations have helped Viet Nam to become increasingly attractive to international visitors.
