MoFA advices Vietnamese to leave Israel as conflict becomes tense

These people were advised to keep a close watch on information from local authorities as well as warnings from the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry's Consular Department and the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel so as to take timely response.

The ministry also advised Vietnamese citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Israel where the ongoing conflict is evolving complicatedly.

Earlier, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said that Viet Nam is "profoundly concerned" over the escalating violence between Hamas and Israel that has led to massive civilian casualties as the Gaza strip saw the deadliest day in over 50 years.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Ly Duc Trung on October 12 called for the establishment of working groups among the Vietnamese community in Israel to support each other amidst the current conflict.

About 500 Vietnamese people are living and working in Israel, mainly in big cities. Besides, hundreds of Vietnamese students have come to the country to study each year./.
