The move was made at the petition of cinema operators in Ha Noi asking for the Government's permission to resume their businesses ahead of the Lunar New Year festival.

Cinemas and theatres in the capital city have been closed since May last year when the fourth COVID-19 wave emerged, but have been allowed to reopen in Ho Chi Minh City once epicenter of the current wave since late November.

Thanks to fast rising vaccination coverage, the Government issued Resolution No. 128 last October, marking switch away from zero COVID-19 policy to safe and flexible adaptation to the pandemic, thus creating room for reviving the economy.

No localities are allowed to issue additional regulations contrary to the above Resolution, the Government ordered.

The Government had decided to resume regular international passenger flights on a pilot basis from January 1, 2022, in a bid to boost economic recovery./.
