If the plan is approved, civil servants and public employees would enjoy a continuous four-day holiday for New Year 2026, from Thursday, January 1 to Sunday, January 4.
To mark the occasion, Ha Noi plans to host 15-minute fireworks displays at six locations across the capital city from 11:45 p.m. on December 31, 2025 to 12:00 a.m. on January 1, 2026.
Under the 2019 Labor Code, employees who work during holidays shall be entitled to overtime pay of at least 300 percent of their standard wage. If the work is performed at night, the rate shall rise to 390 percent./.
