Ministry confirms 39th COVID-19 infection case

VGP – The Ministry of Health has confirmed the 39th COVID-19 patient in Viet Nam and the 5th infection case in Ha Noi.

The 25-year-old male patient, residing at Dich Vong, Cau Giay District, Ha Noi, is a tour guide for a  foreign national tested positive for the virus earlier in Quang Ninh province.

On March 4, he led a foreign delegation to visit Ninh Binh Province and was in contact with the 24th COVID patient, who was on the same flight VN0054 from UK to Viet Nam on March 2 with the 17th COVID patient.

On March 8, he was transferred to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases with little fever and no cough. On March 11, he was tested positive for the virus.

The 39th COVID patient has been at stable health and treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh, Ha Noi.

The Ministry of Health has requested Ha Noi’s People’s Committee to seek for people having contact with the patient and disinfect the patient’s residence as well as closely monitor the health situations of all people having close contact with the patient.

The first four COVID-19 infection cases in Ha Noi include:

Nguyen Hong Nhung, aged 26, address: No. 125, Truc Bach Street, Ba Dinh District (the first infection case in Ha Noi)

27-year old man, address: No. 113, Truc Bach Street, Ba Dinh District (her family’s driver)

64-year old woman, address: No. 125, Truc Bach Street, Ba Dinh, (her aunt)

61-year old man, address. No. 7 Nguyen Khac Nhu (sat near Nhung on same flight VN0054 from UK to Viet Nam on March 2)

All these patients have been treated and isolated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh, Ha Noi./.
