1. This is the first foreign visit by General Secretary To Lam since he was unanimously elected by the National Assembly as President of Viet Nam on April 7, 2026.
2. Both Viet Nam and China identified the visit as the most important diplomatic activity in the bilateral ties in 2026 when the two countries have entered new development era.
3. The visit was a concrete step in realizing the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, diversification and multilateralization of external relations adopted at the 14th National Party Congress.
4. The diverse activities during the visit reflect the political trust, comprehensive and in-depth cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries as well as the shared wish of both sides in elevating strategic connectivity in order to further deepen the relationship.
5. General Secretary and President To Lam and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping engaged in profound strategic exchanges and witnessed the signing of agreements on cooperation in various fields.
6. The two leaders agreed on major common perceptions to advance Viet Nam-China relations to a new level.
Both sides voiced support for the cause of building socialism in each country, and agreed to strengthen the connectivity between the two economies.
7. The two leaders underscored the need to actively coordinate and support each other on the international arena in order to consolidate an environment of peace and stability conducive for each country.
8. On the occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam visited Guangxi on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's departure from Guangxi for Viet Nam to lead the Vietnamese revolution./.
