Baerbock spoke highly of Viet Nam's active and dynamic role, rising stature, and growing contributions in UN bodies and forums, including the General Assembly, amid challenging context.
She hailed the Vietnamese State President's speech and key message at the UNGA on September 23, which demonstrated Viet Nam's strong support for the UN in general and for this year's session theme.
Baerbock called for the Southeast Asian country's continued support and active participation in the second High-level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response, to be held in 2026.
Luong, for his part, reiterated strong support for the UN's central role in global governance, coordinating and leading multilateral efforts, and proposing global solutions.
He expected that with the support of the vast majority of member states, the UN will stay true to its stated purposes and principles, calling on the UNGA needs to promote stronger political will, consolidate international cooperation and solidarity, and uphold multilateralism and international law.
Luong briefed Baerbock about Viet Nam's preparations to host the signing ceremony for the UN Convention against Cybercrime in Ha Noi this October, to assume the chairmanship of the 11th Review Conference next year, as well as its candidacy for various other important UN bodies and positions. He called for the UNGA 80 President's active support for Viet Nam's efforts.
He also highly valued Baerbock's priorities and commitments, particularly regarding the staffing of the Office of the UNGA President, while calling for her continued attention, support, and facilitation for Vietnamese officials to work at the UN, including in the office.
Both leaders vowed to maintain close cooperation to jointly promote the shared priorities of Viet Nam and the UN in the coming period.

At the meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the same day, Luong underlined that Viet Nam always attaches importance to strengthening friendship and cooperation with Turkey, one of its leading partners in the Middle East.
Erdoğan agreed with his counterpart's proposal to boost delegation exchanges, especially those at the high level, in the time to come, adding that both countries are now in a favorable position to elevate their relations to a new height.
The two leaders pledged that the two countries will double efforts to realize the goal of US$4 billion in bilateral trade, while also exploring new frameworks to further facilitate trade and investment, including the promotion of a bilateral free trade agreement.
They also discussed specific measures to advance cooperation in key areas such as economy, trade and investment, defense-security, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
Both sides vowed to strengthen coordination at multilateral forums, and exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
During his meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Abdul Latif Rashid, Luong affirmed that Viet Nam always treasures and wishes to strengthen multifaceted cooperation with Iraq, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
The Vietnamese leader suggested both sides step up delegation exchanges, especially business missions, to explore cooperation opportunities in potential sectors and boost access to the Halal market.
He also expressed his hope that Iraq will create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in areas aligned with Iraq's reconstruction needs.
For his part, the Iraqi leader stressed that his country regards Viet Nam as an important partner and wishes to advance cooperation in economy, trade, investment, water management, agriculture, and infrastructure development serving its reconstruction.
Both sides agreed to further improve the effectiveness of existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms, and consider the establishment of new ones and the signing of agreements in potential sectors.

At the meeting between the Vietnamese President and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the two sides exchanged views on many areas of cooperation in key pillars such as politics–diplomacy, economy–trade–investment, security–defense, science and technology, education, humanitarian issues, and war legacy remediation.
Luong reiterated that Viet Nam always regards the U.S. as a partner of strategic importance and wishes to continue working with the U.S. to advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership towards a more substantive and deeper manner, on the basis of respecting each other's independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political system, for peace, stability, and shared prosperity.
He proposed that the two sides continue exchanges and delegation visits at all levels, especially high-level ones, maintain mutual understanding and trust, and effectively address each other's concerns, particularly regarding reciprocal tariff.
Viet Nam welcomes the U.S. businesses to bolster cooperation and investment in strategic sectors such as the semiconductor industry and high-quality human resource training, told the leader.
He urged the U.S. Government to soon establish a roadmap to recognize Viet Nam as a market economy and remove Viet Nam from the list of countries subject to strategic export control list.
Rubio emphasized that President Trump's administration considers Viet Nam as one of the U.S.' top priority partners in the region.
The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework between the two countries should not only be maintained but further developed towards a more substantive manner, especially in the context of the two sides' great potential for economic, trade, and investment cooperation, as well as their shared interests in ensuring peace, stability, and prosperity in the Asia–Pacific.
Secretary Rubio stressed that the closer the two sides cooperate, the more opportunities will open up for bilateral relations, affirming that the U.S. stands ready to accompany Viet Nam in this process, for the benefit of their peoples./.
