Localities resume physical studies for primary pupils & kindergarteners

So far, 45 localities have completely resumed physical studies for all learners from kindergarten schools to universities.

Meanwhile, 14 others only reopened physical learning atuniversities and high and secondary schools. Online learning is still applied on primary school students and kindergarteners.These localities included Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Da Nang, Ninh Thuan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, An Giang, Tien Giang. 

Three provinces including Ca Mau, Ninh Binh, and Nghe An permitted physical learning for university, high, secondary, and primary schools. Only kindergarteners have to stay at home for disease prevention. 

Binh Phuoc is the only locality which allows physical learning for students all schools in Level 1 and Level 2 of disease risks.

In Ha Noi and HCMC, universities welcomed back students after over nine-month online learning from February 14. Especially, 100% of universities and colleges planned to resume physical studies in February. 

In Ba Ria-Vung Tau, physical classes are available for five-year old kindergarteners and students of grades 1st, 6th, seventh, eighth, tenth, and 11th from February 14. From February 21, schools are resumed for all learners. 

In Hung Yen province, from Monday, pupils in grade 1, grades seven to 12 went back to school. From February 21, five-year old kindergarteners will return to school. Students in grades two to six will attend physical classes three sessions per week. The rest of learners will keep studying online. 

In Ha Noi, learners in grades seven to 12 went back to school from February 8. Students in grades one to six at 18 outskirt districts were permitted to return to school from February 10. 

In Vinh Long province, pupils in grades five to 11 are back to school from today. From February 21, learners of grade 2, 7, 8 will go back to school. From February 28, schools will be totally opened for all learners. 

Earlier, the Government passed a resolution to purchase nearly 22 million doses of Pfizer Inc COVID-19 vaccine doses for children aged five to 11. The rollout likely starts within the first quarter when the vaccines are delivered, but no exact information on the timeline and number of children expected to get the shots have been made available.

The rollout of the vaccines to children aged 5-11 years will be conducted similarly to the past administration of shots to children aged 11-17 years, meaning school-attending children will be vaccinated at their schools, while the remaining have vaccines at local medical stations.

As of February 10, 16.3 million Pfizer vaccine shots had been given to children aged 12-17 years in Viet Nam, including 7.86 million second doses. Over 95 percent of children in this age group had received at least one dose of vaccine by the end of January./.
