Localities cooperate to formulate Eastern Highway Economic Corridor

VGP - Four northern localities inked an agreement to build Viet Nam's Eastern Highway Economic Corridor in a ceremony held in Ha Long City of the northern province of Quang Ninh, on July 28.

The deal was signed by the Chairmen of the People's Committees of Hai Phong City, Quang Ninh province, Hai Duong province, and Hung Yen province, and the Chairman of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

The event took place in the context of the third meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) taking place in Ha Long City from July 26-29.

The corridor is expected to create a new development space and serve as a growth pole of the Red River Delta and the Northern region.

A regional connectivity council will be set up and monitored by the VCCI.
