Prime Minister Brigitte Haas is the first leader of Liechtenstein to visit Viet Nam since the two countries set up diplomatic relations in 2008.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for the two countries to review their cooperation and explore measures to tap their economic potential, particularly in areas where Liechtenstein has strengths and which align with Viet Nam's development priorities.
On the occasion of the visit, Viet Nam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), an intergovernmental organization of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, signed a free trade agreement.
The trade deal marks an important milestone in the relations between Viet Nam and the four European countries, reflecting their determination in enhancing economic cooperation and promoting free trade amid global economic fluctuations.
The trade pact covers a wide range of important areas such as trade in goods, trade in services, investment, intellectual property, government procurement, competition, small and medium-sized enterprises, dispute settlement, and sustainable development among others./.
