Legislature confirms appointments of Deputy Prime Ministers, Cabinet ministers

1. Among them, Pham Gia Tuc, Politburo member, Chief of the Office of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee, was confirmed as Deputy Prime Minister.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, aged 61, served as Secretary of Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee since April 2021, Vice Chief of the Office of the CPV Central Committee since November 2024, and Chief of the Office of the CPV Central Committee since August 2025.

2. Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Minister of National Defense, was confirmed as Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of National Defense.

Deputy Prime Minister Phan Van Giang, aged 66, served as Vice Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defense since April 2021.

3. Nguyen Van Thang, member of the CPV Central Committee, Minister of Finance, was confirmed as Deputy Prime Minister.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang, aged 53, served as Minister of Transport since October 2022, and Minister of Finance since November 2024.

4. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee, was confirmed as Deputy Prime Minister.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra, aged 62, served as Minister of Home Affairs from April 2021 to January 2025 and Deputy Prime Minister since October 2025.

5. Le Tien Chau, member of the CPV Central Committee, Secretary of Hai Phong Municipal Party Committee, was confirmed as Deputy Prime Minister.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau, aged 57, served as Secretary of Hai Phong Municipal Party Committee since January 2023.

6. Ho Quoc Dung, member of the CPV Central Committee, was confirmed as Deputy Prime Minister. 

All the newly-elected Deputy Prime Ministers shall serve a five-year term, from 2026 to 2031.

The current Government is led by newly-elected Prime Minister Le Minh Hung who will assisted by Pham Gia Tuc, Phan Van Giang, Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Ho Quoc Dung, Nguyen Van Thang, and Le Tien Chau as Deputy Prime Ministers.

Newly-appointed Cabinet Ministers:

The same day, the National Assembly also confirmed the appointments of 17 Cabinet Ministers at the proposal of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

1. Accordingly, Phan Van Giang was confirmed as Minister of National Defense.

2. Luong Tam Quang was confirmed as Minister of Public Security.

3. Le Hoai Trung was confirmed as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

4. Do Thanh Binh was confirmed as Minister of Home Affairs.

5. Hoang Thanh Tung was confirmed as Minister of Justice

6. Ngo Van Tuan was confirmed as Minister of Finance

7. Le Manh Hung was confirmed as Minister of Industry and Trade

8. Trinh Viet Hung was confirmed as Minister of Agriculture and Environment

9. Tran Hong Minh was confirmed as Minister of Construction

10. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh was confirmed as Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism

11. Vu Hai Quan was confirmed as Minister of Science and Technology

12. Hoang Minh Son was confirmed as Minister of Education and Training

13.  Dao Hong Lan was confirmed as Minister of Health

14. Nguyen Dinh Khang was confirmed as Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs

15. Pham Duc An was confirmed as Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam

16. Nguyen Quoc Doan was confirmed as Chief Inspector of the Government Inspectorate

17. Dang Xuan Phong was confirmed as Minister-Chairman of the Government Office.
