Foreign leaders, UN Chief congratulate Viet Nam on 81st National Day

Brunei Darussalam's King Haji Hassanal Bolkiah has cabled a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President of Viet Nam To Lam and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung; Speaker of the Legislative Council of Brunei Darussalam Pehin Dato Abdul Rahman Taib has cabled a message of congratulations to President of the National Assembly of Viet Nam Tran Thanh Man.

Brunei Darussalam's leaders highly valued the close friendship, mutual trust and understanding between the two countries. They noted with pleasure at the positive growth momentum of the bilateral ties, especially in such fields like trade, energy, national defense, and people-to-people exchanges, thereby bringing practical benefits to the peoples of the two countries.

Brunei Darussalam's leaders expressed their wish to further enhance cooperation with Viet Nam toward the 35^th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027; reaffirming their support and close coordination with Viet Nam as the host of APEC 2027, thus contributing to the maintenance of peace, stability, and security in the region.

Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

President Prabowo Subianto noted with pleasure that both sides have built a strong relationship over the past more than seven decades on the basis of mutual trust and respect, and worked together to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

Myanmar's President Min Aung Hlaing sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

President Min Aung Hlaing expressed his wish to further strengthen the Comprehensive Partnership with Viet Nam. He also took the occasion to congratulate Viet Nam on successfully undertaking the role as the Chair of Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Viet Nam (CLMV) cooperation mechanism in 2026, and pledged to support Viet Nam in the mechanisms that both sides are members such as ASEAN, CLMV, and ACMECS.

In their messages, the Singaporean leaders congratulated on Viet Nam's achievements, affirming that Singapore attaches importance to the friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Viet Nam. Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam; Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

In their message, the Thai leaders extended sincere congratulations to leaders and people of Viet Nam. They spoke highly of Viet Nam's socio-economic achievements which have positively contributed to growth and prosperity in the region.

The Thai leaders also appreciated Viet Nam's contributions to peace and prosperity in Southeast Asia, expressing their belief that the long-lasting friendship between the two countries will continue to be further strengthened and the Viet Nam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to thrive in the future.

Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim cabled a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, in which the former expressed his pleasure at the growth momentum of the bilateral ties since the two countries set up Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2024. India's President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi cabled a congratulatory letter to General Secretary and President To Lam, in which the Indian leaders stressed that To Lam's State visit to India in May 2026 has contributed to reinforcing the long-standing relations and opening up new cooperation horizon between the two countries.

The Indian leaders expressed their wish to work closely with Vietnamese counterparts to further advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to new levels to bring practical benefits to the peoples of the two nations.

South Korea's President Lee Jae Myung cabled a message of congratulations to General Secretary and President To Lam, in which President Lee congratulated Viet Nam and highly valued the Southeast Asian nation's strong development, expressing his wish that South Korea will become Viet Nam's trusted partner throughout the course of realizing its strategic goals.

New Zealand's Governor-General Cindy Kiro sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam; Prime Minister Christopher Luxon sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.
