Jetstar Pacific to modernize fleet with purchase of 10 Airbus

VGP – Viet Nam’s Jetstar Pacific Airlines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Airbus for 10 A320 CEO aircraft.

CEO of Jetstar Pacific Le Hong Ha said the airline plans to take delivery of all of the aircraft in 2017, as part of an overall plan to modernize the airline’s fleet by 2020.

Jetstar Pacific is the first low-cost airline in Viet Nam, which has had 33 domestic and international air routes and connected to global Jetstar network with 75 destinations and 4,000 flights per week.

Based in Ho Chi Minh City, the airline has two main shareholders including Viet Nam Airlines (holding 70% of stake) and Australia’s Quantas Airways (30% stake).

Currently, the airline operates a fleet of 12 leased A320 Family aircraft, flying to 28 domestic and regional destinations.
