Japanese Crown Prince, Crown Princess embark on working visit to Viet Nam

The royal couple were welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu, Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Yamada Takio, and other officials of Viet Nam and Japan.

The welcoming ceremony for the Crown Prince and Crown Princess Kiko is expected to be held on September 21 morning by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

The Japanese distinguished guests will attend a ceremony to mark 50 years of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and Japan at the National Convention Center on September 21 evening.

During their stay, they will also watch an opera Princess Anio by the Viet Nam National Symphony Orchestra at the Opera House in Ha Noi, alongside taking part in activities in Quang Nam and Da Nang in the central region.

The Viet Nam - Japan relations are now in their prime and live up to the countries' extensive strategic partnership.

Japan is the top provider of official development assistance, second largest manpower importer, third biggest foreign investor and tourist source market, and fourth trading partner of Viet Nam.

Japan has over 5,000 valid investment projects worth more than US$70 billion in Viet Nam while Viet Nam has invested about US$19.5 million in 106 projects in the Northeast Asian nation. 

The bilateral trade has continued growing in a balanced manner to nearly US$50 billion in 2022.

There are nearly 500,000 Vietnamese people working and living in Japan at present, making them the second largest foreign communities there and also an important source of manpower for many sectors in Japan./.
