Under the agreement, the Japanese university will transfer its cardiac surgery techniques to the cardiovascular center, enabling the latter to carry out baby heart surgeries.

Vietnamese doctors will be dispatched to Japan for annual courses related to cardiac surgery, according to the agreement.

Japan will also assist the establishment of the Cleft Lip and Palate Society in Việt Nam.

The Japanese Embassy in Việt Nam said that the Society will be partly financed by the Japanese Government and charitable organizations.

Over 2,000 Vietnamese people have been given cleft lip and palate dissections by Japanese medical working teams so far.
