Indonesia AirAsia launches Jakarta-HCM City direct route

VGP – Indonesia AirAsia, the biggest budget carrier in Asia, has launched new flights to Việt Nam, becoming the sole airline providing direct flights between Jakarta and Hồ Chí Minh City.

AirAsia will open four flights between the two cities every week with the one-way ticket price of 199,000 rupiahs for the Jakarta-Hồ Chí Minh City direction and US $35 for the Hồ Chí Minh City-Jakarta flight.

The Indonesia-based airline is expected to post seat occupancy of 75-85%.

Indonesia AirAsia is offering a promotion program from August 20-30 for its flights scheduled between September 18, 2009 and July 31, 2010.

Hà Hồng Hải, Minister Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia, said that the Government of Việt Nam welcomes the launching of Jakarta-Hồ Chí Minh City air route.

He was strongly convinced that this event will further boost economic cooperation between the two cities in particular and the two countries in general.
