HN marks Opera House centennial anniversary

VGP - A show performed by artists from the Việt Nam Dance, Song and Music Theatre was held this morning to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Hà Nội Opera House.

Bearing French-style architecture, the Opera House has become a great cultural space in the capital city of Hanoi after having experienced ups and downs for a century.

On this occasion, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoàng Anh Tuấn awarded a national certificate in recognition of the significance of the theatre to the city and the country.

Built in 1911 by the French, the Opera House was renovated in late 1990s.

It has, for a long time, been a rendezvous for those who love theatrical performances and traditional songs and music concerts, symphonies, opera and classical opera. It is also a tourist attraction for local and foreign visitors./.
