Heavy rains result in unprecedented flooding in Yen Bai

VGP - Heavy rains induced by typhoon Yagi have resulted in unprecedented flooding in the northern province of Yen Bai, according to the Voice of Viet Nam.

Water level in the Red River is rising rapidly, causing widespread inundation in Yen Bai city.

As of Tuesday morning, at least 28 people died, including 22 deaths caused by landslides and six others are still missing in Yen Bai province, the local authorities said.

Nearly 13,560 houses were damaged and 10,399 houses were inundated.
