Health ministry confirms two local COVID-19 infection cases

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed four new COVID-19 cases, including two community infections on Tuesday morning, raising the national patient tally to 2,985.

The latest local infections were recorded in Da Nang and Ha Noi while the imported cases are Vietnamese returning home via Long Binh border gate in the southern province of An Giang.

Specifically, patient 2982 is a 28-year-old man in Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province.

The man, who worked at a hotel in Hai Chau District, Da Nang City, experienced fever and fatigue on May 2 and tested positive for the virus the following day.

Patients 2983 and 2984 entered Viet Nam on May 3 and tested positive for the virus the same day.

Patient 2985 is a 26-year-old man in Ha Noi’s Bac Tu Liem District.

On April 29, he was on the same flight with two Chinese nationals from Da Nang to Ha Noi. The two Chinese nationals had tested positive for COVID-19 after completing 14-day mandatory quarantine in the northern province of Yen Bai.

As the pandemic has evolved complicatedly, the Ministry of Health encouraged people to strictly implement its 5K campaign: khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering) and khai bao y te (health declaration), saying these measures are decisive factor to reduce community transmissions./.
