Health ministry confirms 3,461 new COVID-19 cases

VGP - The Ministry of Health confirmed 3,461 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, raising the national patient tally to 849,691.

The latest patients consist of three imported cases and 3,458 domestic infections in 47 cities and provinces namely Ho Chi Minh City (1,162), Binh Duong (501), Dong Nai (486), An Giang (121),  Dak Lak (113), Dong Thap (87), Kien Giang (76), Tien Giang (74),  Gia Lai (60), Long An (59), Binh Thuan (55), Tay Ninh (51), Tra Vinh (46), Bac Lieu (45), Ca Mau (41), Khanh Hoa (39), Hau Giang (31), Ha Noi (29), Quang Nam (29), Quang Ngai (19), Ha Nam (18), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (18), Can Tho (17), Vinh Long (15), Binh Dinh (13), Nghe An (12), Ben Tre (11), Dak Nong (9), Lam Dong (8 ), Quang Tri (7), Ninh Thuan (7), Quang Binh (7), Bac Ninh (5), Thanh Hoa (5), Nam Dinh (4), Ha Tinh (4), Kon Tum (4), Binh Phuoc (3), Son La (3), Phu Yen (3), Thua Thien-Hue (3), Vinh Phuc (2), Thai Binh (1), Ninh Binh (1), Lai Châu (1), and Tuyen Quang (1).

The national tally includes 845,050 locally transmitted cases recorded in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth COVID-19 wave broke out.

The same day, the ministry reported 1,191 new recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 784,469.

The ministry also announced further 106 fatalities in Ho Chi Minh City (73), Binh Duong (18), Long An (four), Dong Nai (four), Tien Giang (three), Can Tho (one), An Giang (one), Dong Thap (one), and Quang Tri (one), bringing the nation’s death toll to 20,869, accounting for 2.4 percent of the total infections.

The nation has administered 56,330,750 COVID-19 vaccine doses, with 16,493,600 people having been fully vaccinated./.
