Health declaration shall be compulsory for all factory laborers

Speaking at the online meeting with leaders of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces on Monday morning, Vu tasked the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Planning and Investment to jointly issue a legal document to institutionalize this requirement.

The two northern localities are being hit hardest by the current fourth wave of local transmissions, with 980 and 474 confirmed cases since April 27, 2021.

With COVID-19 outbreaks recorded at industrial parks, both Bac Giang and Bac Ninh have quickly imposed social distancing on almost all of their district-level administrative units and augmented screening tests to promptly detect infection cases and those coming in close contact with them.

The number of new COVID-19 cases is expected to continue rising in the coming days in Bac Giang as around 40,000 workers of Hosiden Viet Nam Co., Ltd located in Quang Chau district are being quarantined, said Le Anh Duong, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

The local authorities are also stepping up efforts to prevent transmissions at workers’ residential areas as four to eight people have tested positive daily after having been in close contact with confirmed cases.

In Bac Ninh, authorities have tracked down 37,000 F1 and F2 individuals and tested 338,786 samples, according to To Thi Mai Hoa, director of the local Department of Health.

To said the COVID-19 outbreak at Canon Viet Nam Co., Ltd has been put under control and the company is expected to resume operation on May 25./.
