HCMC founds association for nature and environment protection

Administered by the city’s Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the association has 60 members, including individuals and enterprises.

Mr. Đặng Văn Khoa, who was selected the entity’s Chairman, said that the environmental pollution in HCMC is now a real threat to the city’s sustainable development.

The association’s tasks range from propagation, education, scientific research to recommendations for perfecting legal regulations on environment protection, said Mr. Khoa.

At first, the association will focus on proposing amendments of legal regulations on discovering and punishing environment-polluting enterprises.
