This is part of the Ha Tinh province master planning scheme for 2021 - 2030 with a vision to 2050 which was signed by Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh on November 8.
Under the newly-approved planning scheme, the second of this kind in accordance with the new Law on Planning, Ha Tinh province will become one of developing poles of the North Central and Central Coast regions by 2030.
The province will focus on four key economic sectors including steelmaking industry, supporting industry, steel fabrication and power generation, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, services of logistics and travel.
The province will develop three urban areas including (1) areas surrounding Ha Tinh city, (2) northern areas including Hong Linh commune, Tien Dien town, and new Nghi Xuan areas and (3) southern areas of Ky Anh town and Vung Ang economic zone.
In the 2021-2030 period, the local economy is expected to expand 9 percent on. Argo-forestry-fishery sector will account for 7.9 percent; industry and construction 60.3 percent, service 26.6 percent, product tax minus product subsidies at 5.14 percent. GRDP per capital is set to reach VND 170 million (US$ 6,842) while export turnover is expected to touch around US$ 4 billion.
Ha Tinh province has a total area of nearly 6,000 km2 and is home to over 1.2 million people, accounting for 1.33 percent of nation's population. The province is devided into 13 administrative units including one city, two towns and ten districts./.
