This year, Ha Noi aims to welcome 31 million visitors in 2025, including 7.5 million international tourists, and earn VND 130 trillion (US$5.1 billion) in tourism revenue in 2025.

To realize this plan, the Ha Noi People's Committee is focusing on developing programs and service packages to boost domestic tourism demand.

The Department of Tourism is coordinating with the Tourist Corporation, the Tourism Association, and 4–5-star hotels and resorts, along with relevant units, to organize initiatives such as "Experience 4–5-Star Hotels for Hanoians and Visitors" and the "Vietnamese Consume Vietnamese Products" campaign. These aim to encourage residents and tourists to experience high-end services offered by luxury hotels and resorts.

At the same time, the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Tourist Corporation, Tourism Association, Ha Noi UNESCO Travel Club, tourism service businesses, and other stakeholders, will organize stimulus tours to destinations within the city.

Ha Noi will organize collaborative and exchange activities to develop tourism products in partnership with major tourist destinations across the country.

In terms of domestic promotion, Ha Noi will take part in tourism marketing efforts in key provinces and cities; support the 2025 National Tourism Year hosted in Hue and other localities; and participate in major tourism events such as the Viet Nam International Travel Mart and the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City.

Ha Noi will also promote craft village tourism through events such as the Craft Village Conservation and Development Festival, a craft product competition, and the "Vietnamese Agricultural Pride" campaign.

For international markets, Ha Noi will promote Vietnamese tourism in countries including France, Italy, and Switzerland. The city will also take part in major international tourism fairs and events, including ITB ASIA 2025 in Singapore, IMEX Frankfurt 2025 in Germany, Tourism Expo Japan 2025 in Aichi, Japan, and IFTM Top Resa 2025 in France, among others.

Ha Noi wins "Sustainable Tourism" Award at TPO

Recently, Ha Noi was honored with the "Sustainable Tourism" Award at the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO) Best Awards 2025, reaffirming the capital's reputation as a responsible and forward-looking travel destination.

For years, the capital has encouraged local tourism businesses to cut down on single-use plastics, introduced waste-sorting and multilingual signage at cultural sites, and developed eco- and community-based tourism products designed to protect the environment while fostering inclusive economic growth.

The city also organizes public awareness campaigns such as "Green Sunday", promoting environmental responsibility among both residents and visitors.

Moreover, Ha Noi has been honored by many renowned magazines as the top destination for visitors.

The UK-based Time Out magazine has recently published a list of the 15 most loved cities in the world by tourists, with Ha Noi ranking 11th.

Ha Noi is the only representative from Viet Nam to be included in the list.

The capital city stands out thanks to its harmonious blend of ancient beauty and modern vitality, preserving the nostalgic charm of the Old Quarters, historic relics, and architectural works, while embracing the continuous development of a dynamic city.

The capital city was also ranked 9th among the world's top 50 cities to visit in 2025 by Time Out.

Meanwhile, digital travel platform Agoda has named Ha Noi one of Asia's top seven cities to explore on foot, highlighting its compact layout and pedestrian-friendly streets.

"French colonial architecture, ancient temples, and vibrant street markets create a dynamic backdrop for exploration. The area's pedestrian-friendly layout makes it easy to wander and discover local delicacies like Pho and Banh mi from street vendors," Agoda noted.

It added, "The Old Quarter's charm lies in its ability to surprise, with hidden cafés, serene pagodas, and bustling markets around every corner."

Previously, Ha Noi was honored in three categories at the Traveler's Choice Awards Best of the Best Destinations 2025, presented by the world's leading online travel platform, Tripadvisor.

According to the website, the charming Vietnamese capital has aged well, preserving the Old Quarter, monuments and colonial architecture, while making room for modern developments alongside.

"Ha Noi may have shrugged off several former names, including Thang Long, or "ascending dragon," but it hasn't forgotten its past, as sites such as Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and Hoa Lo Prison attest. Lakes, parks, shady boulevards and more than 600 temples and pagodas add to the appeal of this city, which is easily explored by taxi", it noted./.
