This is part of a report on labor and employment situation in the first quarter of 2022 released Tuesday by the General Statistics Office (GSO.
During the reviewed period, the number of employed laborers aged over 15 was 50 million, an increase of 962,600 compared to the previous quarter, according to the GSO.
Underemployed workers in the statutory working age were more than 1.3 million people, down 135,200 in comparison with the previous quarter.
The underemployment rate of workers at the working age in the first quarter of 2022 was 3.01 percent, down 0.36 percentage points from the previous quarter and up 0.81 percentage points over the same period last year.
Around 1.1 million people were unemployed over the past three months, down 489,500 from the previous quarter.
