Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has requested the State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV) to submit the draft Decree to the Government this month.
The proposed policy aims to reduce capital costs, support cash flow, and accelerate Viet Nam's green transition as the country works towards its net-zero emissions target by 2050.
Official data from the SBV showed that green credit has expanded steadily, with outstanding loans reaching VND730 trillion (US$31 billion) as of the end of June, up 7.35 percent from the end of 2024 and accounting for 4.3 percent of total outstanding loans in the economy. Green credit growth averaged 21.2 percent in the 2017–2024 period, outpacing overall credit growth./.
