Gov't to inspect disbursement of public investment capital in 18 ministries, agencies, localities

The first working group, led by Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, is responsible for inspecting disbursement of public investment capital in Supreme People's Court, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board, Quang Tri province, and Quang Binh province.

The second working group, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, will inspect disbursement of public investment capital in the Office of the Party Central Committee, Supreme People's Procuracy, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, Government Inspectorate, Viet Nam News Agency, Voice of Viet Nam, Viet Nam Television, Can Tho City, and An Giang province.

The third working group, led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, will inspect disbursement of public investment capital in the Ministry of Information and Communication, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Labor-Invalids and Social Affairs, Academy of Social Science, Academy of Science and Technology, General Confederation of Labor, Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Central Committee of the Viet Nam Women's Union, Ha Noi-based National University, Ho Chi Minh City-based National University, Management Board of the Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, Viet Nam Journalists' Association, Viet Nam Writers' Association, Viet Nam Lawyers' Association, Cao Bang province, and Bac Kan province.

The fourth working group, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh, will inspect disbursement of public investment capital in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Construction, Viet Nam Farmers' Association, Electricity of Viet Nam, Viet Nam Cooperative Alliance, Central Committee of the Viet Nam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, Viet Nam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Management Board of Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park, Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Dak Lak province, and Gia Lai province.

The fifth working group, led by Minister of Planning and Investment, will inspect disbursement of public investment capital in Dien Bien, Bac Ninh, Ha Giang, and Lang Son provinces.

The sixth working group, headed by Minister of Finance, will inspect disbursement of public investment capital in Nghe An, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, and Soc Trang provinces.

The Government chief requested the working groups to make fact-finding tours to certain ministries, agencies or localities to identify and analyze bottlenecks and ways to handle the bottlenecks.

Inspection shall be conducted from August 20-30, the Prime Minister ordered.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment shall be responsible for summarizing the inspection outcomes and report to the Government and the Prime Minister at the next Cabinet meeting.

The volume of public investment capital for 2022 totals VND542 trillion (over US$23 billion), 2.5 times higher than that in 2016 and an increase of VND110 trillion (US$4.7 billion) in comparison with 2021.

As of July 31, the disbursed volume reached about VND186.8 trillion (US$8 billion), making up 34.47 percent of the above figure./.
