The Government chief made the request while presiding over a meeting with relevant ministries and agencies on the implementation of a campaign to construct schools and boarding facilities for students and teachers in land border communes across the country.
The meeting followed the Politburo's Notice No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025, which outlines the policy on investing in the construction of primary, secondary and high schools in 248 land border communes, with the pilot construction or renovation of 100 schools within 2025.
The Prime Minister tasked the Ministries of Education and Training, Construction, Finance, Ethnic and Religious Affairs, and Agriculture and Environment to work closely with local authorities to ensure effective implementation of the policy.
Currently, 248 border communes in 22 provinces and cities host 956 schools serving more than 625,000 students, over 332,000 of whom need boarding or semi-boarding arrangements.
Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham stressed that the Politburo’s Notice is a significant policy with profound socio-political implications. He urged all stakeholders to take bold, urgent steps to ensure the 100 schools are completed by August 30, 2026.
He also emphasized the importance of adopting special mechanisms and simplified procedures to accelerate progress, while ensuring transparency and anti-corruption measures.
The Government leader also called for the mobilization of maximum social resources—with state funding as the core—and encouraged the participation of the armed forces, public security, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations in the campaign./.
