Gov’t decides five days off for 2022 Lunar New Year holiday

VGP - Officials, public servants and employees working at administrative, non-business agencies, political organizations and socio-political organizations will have five days off, from January 31, 2022 to February 4, 2022, to enjoy the Lunar New Year festival.

The Government Office has released a Document of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on deciding days off for the 2022 Lunar New Year Festival and the 2022 National Day.

The Deputy PM approved a two-day National Day break on September 1-2 as proposed by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

The Lunar New Year Festival, known as Tet Festival, is the most important festival of the year in Viet Nam.

Of all festivals in Viet Nam, Tet is the most family-centered holiday, and Vietnamese people often travel back to the places where their families are from to spend the holiday with their extended families. On Tet, families will prepare a feast to welcome visiting relatives and friends, to exchange greetings and best wishes for the New Year.
