The strategy points out five major tasks and solutions to strengthen anti-corruption efficacy:
i-Perfecting policies and laws in the fields of socio-economic management and prevention and combat of corruption and negative phenomena
ii- Strengthening the organization of the state apparatus; perfecting the public service regime; upholding integrity of civil servants in performing public duties; and improving the efficiency of law enforcement
ii- Strengthening inspection, supervision, audit, investigation, prosecution, and execution of judgment
iv- Raising awareness and promoting the role and responsibility of society in preventing and combating corruption and negative phenomena
v- Actively taking part in and improving the effectiveness of international cooperation in anti-corruption, and fully implementing the rights and obligations in accordance with the United Nations Convention against Corruption to which Viet Nam is a signatory
The strategy aims to accelerate administrative reform, focusing on bettering administrative procedures; and build and effectively operate the e-Government system and digital government.
It targets to enhance the application of science and technology in state governance and socio-economic management; and step up national financial transparency and non-cash payments.
It sets goal to promote openness and transparency in the activities of agencies, organizations and units according to the provisions of law; and create favorable conditions for organizations and individuals to participate in the decision-making process and supervise the activities of state administrative agencies.
A conference to review one-year operation of provincial-level steering committees for anti-corruption held in June this year revealed that provincial-level committees have put 444 corruption cases under their supervision.
Competent authorities at local-levels instituted legal proceedings against 530 new corruption cases involving 1,858 persons of whom 1,132 are Party members and public employees.
About 15 Party organizations and 80 cadres and public employees working at anti-corruption agencies have been disciplined.
At its fifth plenum on May 10, 2022, the 13th Party Central Committee decided to establish provincial/municipal steering committees for anti-corruption in an effort to accelerate corruption combat in grassroots levels.
Three months later, all 63 provinces and cities formed these steering committees, with the capital city of Ha Noi, the north-central province of Thanh Hoa and the central city of Da Nang taking the lead./.
