"Golden time" for rearranging, streamlining political system's apparatus: General Secretary
VGP – This is the "golden time" to rearrange and streamline the apparatus of the political system, General Secretary To Lam told legislators on Thursday.

He means that the apparatus should be rearranged and streamlined before the Party congresses at all levels scheduled this year, towards the 14th National Party Congress early next year.
Rearranging and streamlining the political system's apparatus not only targets to save budget for investment but also helps improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the State apparatus, the Party leader stressed.
To said Viet Nam's position on the international arena has been heightened but national competitiveness remains low compared to that of the world.
The risk of lagging behind still remains, even more complicated as countries around the world are developing rapidly, he added.
To also emphasized that strengthening anti-corruption efforts aims to improve the integrity of administrations and this is also a criteria to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the State apparatus.
In November last year, General Secretary To Lam called for a "revolution" in rearranging and streamlining the political system's apparatus. This process has been promptly implemented from central to local levels and must be completed in February this year./.
