Germany donates more than 2.5 million COVID-19 vaccines doses to Viet Nam

VGP – As many as 2,558,000 doses of Moderna vaccine gifted by Germany via the COVAX Facility arrived in Ha Noi, the German Embassy in Viet Nam said Tuesday.

Germany plans to donate up to 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine for Viet Nam, the Embassy stated. 

So far, the Southeast Asian nation has received 45,197,910 doses via COVAX Facility co-led by the World Health Organization (WHO), Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness and Innovations (CEPI), GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, and UNICEF as the key delivery partner.

According to the Ministry of Health, more than 133.7 million doses were administered in the country. Nearly 75 million people received the first jabs while over 57 million ones got the second shots. 

Around seven million doses of COVID-19 vaccine were inoculated for children aged from 12-17.
