To congratulated Timor Leste on officially becoming a member of ASEAN, affirming that it is a historic milestone for Timor Leste as well as for the bloc's development process, opening a new phase of deeper cooperation and closer integration between Timor Leste and other countries in the region.
Viet Nam always attaches great importance to its friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Timor Leste, and stands ready to share its experience in development and international integration, while working closely with Timor-Leste within ASEAN, noted the Vietnamese leader.
The President of Timor Leste affirmed that Viet Nam has always been a close friend and trusted partner of the country, expressing his hope that Viet Nam would continue to share its experience in socio-economic development, institution-building, human resource training, and international integration.
He conveyed sincere thanks to Viet Nam for its steadfast and invaluable support throughout Timor Leste's accession process to ASEAN.
Ramos-Horta highly appreciated Viet Nam's opening its Embassy in Dili in recent April, describing it as an important milestone that brings new momentum to bilateral relations.
The Embassy would facilitate greater exchanges and connectivity between the two countries, while helping to effectively implement concrete cooperation programs, stated the leader.
The two leaders vowed to continue promoting all-level delegation exchanges as well as enhance the effectiveness of cooperation channels between the two Parties, States, National Assemblies, and people-to-people exchanges.
The emphasized the need to effectively implement the agreements already reached and strengthen the sharing of experience in governance, development, and international integration.
Both sides concurred to expand cooperation in such areas as telecommunications, digital transformation, agriculture, energy, education and training, and the development of high-quality human resources.
The enhancement of connectivity among both countries' businesses, localities, and people would help broaden substantive cooperation, they underlined.
They pledged to strengthen consultations and coordination within ASEAN, the United Nations, and other multilateral mechanisms.
Both leaders pledged to work together with other ASEAN member states to reinforce solidarity, deepen regional cohesion, and uphold the bloc's centrality amid an increasingly complex and evolving regional and international environment.
The two leaders vowed to continue close coordination to further advance the bilateral relations towards a more substantive and effective manner, thereby contributing positively to peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development in the region./.
